Inside Pulse Fencing: Meet Our Auckland Club

Pulse Fencing brings coaching, training and equipment support together at Level 2, 76 Anzac Avenue, Auckland CBD. Whether you are looking for a first lesson or a place to develop your fencing, the club offers several ways to get involved.

How Pulse began

Head coach Rory Ogg founded Pulse Fencing in 2016. The club began with coaching in community halls around Auckland and moved into a dedicated CBD facility in 2023. Today, its work includes group classes, private coaching, equipment sales and repairs.

Meet the coaching team

Our team includes Rory Ogg, Robert Ogg, Anya Kamynina, Max Chan, Parth Trivedi and Detroit Evans, with roles spanning beginner, intermediate and advanced training in foil and sabre. You can read their individual backgrounds on our About page.

A space for training and equipment support

The facility includes electric fencing equipment and metal pistes, a gym area, an armoury and a fencing shop. Having these in one location connects regular training with advice about equipment and its upkeep.

Visit our club and facilities page for more detail about the space.

Choose your starting point

If you have never fenced, our beginner classes introduce the foundations and provide the necessary equipment. Complete the first-time sign-up form before attending, and our team will contact you with the details.

If you already have experience, tell us about your background and goals before choosing a class. Our training programme and membership information can help you explore the options, with guidance from the team.

Visit the equipment shop

You can browse fencing equipment online and contact us about fitting, compatibility or repairs. Check availability if you need a particular product or size before travelling.

Shop hours and club training hours are different. The contact page lists both and explains how to enquire about a shop visit outside the listed hours.

Take the next step

New visitors often have practical questions about clothing, equipment and booking. You do not need to work everything out alone. Get in touch with Pulse, or register for a first beginner session.
